As with all voluntary organisations there is more work to do than we can manage, mainly because of the lack of funding. As well as requiring short-term shoring-up for the financial year, we need to attract onward and consistent investment. If you would like to support Share in its work .
So we are offering individuals or buinesses the opportunity to covenant either a lump sum or an amount of five pounds and upward per month in support of local individuals, married couples and families who are struggling to cope with what life throws at them.
Lack of mental well-being is an often unspoken and underlying problem in our society which undermines family cohesion, efficiency in the workplace and breakdown in society illustrated in broken homes, absenteeism, stress, anti-social behaviour and vandalism.
However, in recent months, encouragingly, the Government has publicly identified mental health problems as a matter for serious public concern. Sadly, it has chosen to meet it with only a short-term therapeutic solution, that is only appropriate in a minority of cases. Share tries to meet deep need with a longer-term treatment. Many of our therapy “hours” are given by volunteer therapists, which allows our more experienced paid staff to deal with the more complex clients. Our stated ethos is to provide subsidised therapy so that treatment is not limited to just those who can afford the market rate, hence we need a regular and committed flow of finance from our friends to bridge the gap between income and expenditure.
This will form new special relationships & become the expanding group known as the " Friends of Share".
